My husband and I were thinking hard on what to get his aunt and uncle for an anniversary gift. They actually could use a lot of things because they had just had a house fire that destroyed a good bit of their material possessions. I did not want to get them something like a blender or microwave oven. That is what insurance money is for! I wanted to get them something more personal, and that is when my husband suggested that we buy anniversary ketubahs for them. Well, just one was needed, and I thought it was a fantastic idea.
I knew that they had lost everything in the living room since that is where the fire had originated, and that is where their wedding ketubah was displayed on the wall behind their sofa. I knew that was one of the things they were most heartbroken over, so I went to a website that sells wedding and anniversary ketubahs. I wasn’t even sure if his aunt and uncle were aware of this kind of ketubah since it is a fairly new way to celebrate anniversaries. The site that I went to had a really nice variety of different ketubahs, and I honestly did not know which one to pick.
My husband and I prayed over it, and we were able to pick one the very next morning. It is a bit smaller than what they had, but the colors and design are very similar, which is why we picked that specific one out for them. Their anniversary is not for another few weeks, but I honestly don’t know if I am going to be able to hold off that long in giving it to them. It just turned out nicer than I could have expected, and I know they are going to love it too!
